Whimsical Events was started by two hard working, passionate, strong willed women with a track record of success, Melanie Keown and Karli Himarios. Melanie and Karli met just two and a half short years ago when Karli hired Melanie to help her with her own wedding. The two hit it off right away and developed a strong bond. After the wedding, they kept in touch and while they had separate Event Planning companies, they were always cheering each other on and helping each other out whenever necessary. They were a team even before they were a team! Then one day, over a couple glasses of wine, the two had a grand idea to combine their businesses and create an entirely new brand together. They felt this merger would allow them to maximize their resources and touch more people. Once again, two strong women with a dream, dove in head first and Whimsical Events was born.

LEAD PLANNER/PARTNER, FLORAL DESIGNER
I was born into a big crazy family and raised in Houston where I went to the University of Houston for my business degree in accounting & finance (Go Coogs!). After spending years in finance, working in a corporate office and never feeling quite satisfied, I decided to take a leap of faith and find a career where I could be at my best everyday and spend my time serving others. Having both a detailed/organized side and a creative side to my personality, event planning & design seemed like a natural fit for me. I began planning weddings while taking floral design classes in the evenings and quickly found myself falling in love with flowers and the work I was doing for my clients. Nothing is better than being able to take stress and pressure off of a couple’s shoulders and witnessing them enjoying that wonderful day with their friends and family. Weddings and the planning of the event should be fun and bring people together and I want to help everyone to have a great experience and a beautiful day that they can look back on for the rest of their lives. I now live in Tomball with a big crazy family of my own: my ever supportive husband Chris, three kids, and two cats Milo & Otis. When I’m not working you can find me serving at our church, playing games with the family, paddle boarding, or hanging with my close girl friends with a glass of bubbles in hand!
Most little girls dream of being a bride, but I always dreamed of being a Wedding Planner, thank you Franck from Father of the Bride. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and moved to Houston in 2013 after graduating from Texas State University with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Business Administration (Go Bobcats). I took a job with a large chain department store in Houston where I was promoted quickly and soon found myself to be the youngest store manager in Texas, running a team of over 100 people and responsible for about 12 million dollars in annual sales. This was a huge milestone in my career and while I seemed to thrive and love the uncertainty that is retail, I always felt like something was missing. With all this, that dream of being a Wedding Planner seemed to linger and I would always tell myself “someday”. Then, in 2015 in all came to fruition when a close friend of mine and mentor passed away. This tragedy in my life helped me realize that life is too short and it’s never too late to follow your dreams. Shortly after, I started my own wedding planning company and never looked back. I am a wife to the sweetest, silliest, most supportive husband, Eric and a fur momma to a rescue pup named Braxton. I love, love and truly believe in the philosophy that what’s meant to be will be. I enjoy singing and dancing, although I’m completely tone deaf and have no rhythm. Also, I can’t live without red wine and coffee.

She’s originally from Houston, went to college at The University of Texas at Austin (Hook em’ Horns!), and is currently an elementary school teacher. After loving every single aspect of planning her own wedding, Ali wanted to continue being involved in the wedding industry. She knew she was in great company when she met Melanie and Karli and joined the Whimsical Events' team. Ali's natural passion for organization, creativity, and attention to detail makes her a great resource for your special day. She can't wait to be inspired by your vision and help make your wedding dreams come true!
Hi there! My name is Ronelle Hoff
and I have worked in the wedding and
events industry for well over three years now.
I began my journey as a wedding assistant in San Francisco area with Harlene Events in 2017, coordinating weddings within settings from the beautiful Mountain top- Redwood Trees- Waterfront to the greenery vineyards of a Wine Country. In addition, I have had the pleasure to assist a variety of multicultural weddings and experience different themes/settings. I later transitioned to Houston, TX where my passion for weddings grew even stronger when I became a part of Whimsical Events in July of 2019. Ever since, I have felt so blessed to work with a team of ladies who share the same excitement and passion I have when it comes to creating memorable experiences for our brides and grooms! When I am not coordinating weddings, I am either teaching biology to my 9th grade students, cooking an yummy vegetarian meal, traveling or spending time with my family!
After having a career as a hairstylist
for 5 years, Elyssa found her love
for event planning while planning her own wedding.
She has an impeccable eye for detail and a passion for making others happy. She loves seeing the smiles on couples faces on their big day. Elyssa grew up just outside of College Sation but now lives in downtown Houston with her husband. In her free time you can find her running along the bayou or eating at her favorite ramen restaurant.

service man in a small town just outside
of Whiteman Air Force Base. Jackie had always had aspirations of living in a large metropolitan area, which eventually landed her in Houston Texas. Jackie has 10 years of customer service experience under her belt, 5 of those years were as the wedding coordinator and Senior Cruise director for a Kemah Texas based company called Star Fleet Yachts. Jackie’s 5 years spent with Star Fleet Yachts unlocked a strong passion for the special event and wedding scene, and created a rock solid foundation of creativity and organizational skills that made her a valued addition to the team. Jackie does her best to make time for her pilates and yoga classes, substitute teaching, enjoys bookclub, and quality time with her fiancé and furbabies. Jackie’s keen attention to detail and unwavering dedication will ensure that the outcome of your wedding or event will be a special affair to remember.
My name is Stefania! I have a
bachelors in marketing and
design from the Art institute of Houston. Currently, I am the operations coordinator for a global design and consultancy firm in Houston. Aside from my passion for event planning, I am active with community outreach and fundraising programs. Recently, I have partnered with several Oil & Gas companies to start a local STEM chapter in Houston. When I am not busy trying to save the world, I am raising 3 beautiful children and traveling all over the world with my husband. Born and raised in Houston, I am the only child to an incredibly strong single mom who taught me to always dream big and never stop until I achieve my goals.
