Downtown Classic Kinda Love! | Julia Ideson Library | Houston, TX

For this event, our bride, Valerie originally wanted a more rustic-barn wedding feel with white and blush colors and lots of texture in the florals. However, after booking a large, formal catholic church for their wedding and then the Julia Ideson Library for the reception we knew we needed to edit the original vision to fit the historical downtown building. So we changed the color palette to add in a creamy-yellow candlelight color, peach, and a touch of burgundy to fit the room’s large wood bookshelves and walls.

Their wedding was originally planned for May 2, 2020, and we all know what was going on then. They were able to get married in their original church on their original date with only 10 people allowed in the church so I came in just to deliver her bouquet! They had a 1 year (+1 week) vow renewal/wedding ceremony on May 8, 2021 (which are the pictures below!).

On the front steps of the library, we created tall flower columns to frame the nearly 20’ tall door.

The bride wanted a “flower runner” to span the entire length of her 32’ long head table and, at that time, we hadn’t moved into our studio yet so we created it in Melanie's house and it ran the entire length of the kitchen and dining room.
